They are easy to use and clean, and they cost much less than other appliances.

Even better, there are more ways to use an immersion blender than at first glance.

These small kitchen tools can be used in a surprising number of new ways in the kitchen. Need more information?

Read on to find out 6 new ways to use an immersion blender.

Perfect Pesto: Pesto you buy in a store can be very tasty. But it's nothing like the pesto you can make at home. Pesto that you make at home is out of this world.

Also, it takes no time at all to make with an immersion blender. It makes easy work of a recipe that can be hard, frustrating, and take a long time to do by hand. People often use a food processor to make pesto, just like they do for most of the other things on this list. This big thing has already been done.

You don't have to clean it and strain your back to get it down from the shelf.

Put toasted pine nuts, Parmesan, fresh basil, a few garlic cloves, and 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil in your tall plastic beaker.

Then, use your hand blender to mix it up (aka your immersion blender). With a simple up-and-down motion, you can make pesto.

2. Sumptuous Salsa

Like pesto, salsa that you buy in a store can also be great. But it is also easy for it to miss the mark. It can be too chunky, tasteless, and leave you wanting more spice to go with your corn chips. Take charge of your own life.

Now is the time to use your immersion blender to make a tasty salsa dip.

Because this appliance can do so many things, you can do it in minutes.

There's no need to chop here. Just get the tall plaster beaker you used for the pesto (make sure to clean it first!) and put your ingredients in it.

The basic recipe calls for fresh tomatoes, jalapeos, onion, and garlic. Add more flavor with spices and cilantro.

Then blend it all together! Oh, it does help to put the tomatoes on top. So, the juice they make will naturally help the process of blending.

3. Wonderful Mayo

Making mayo at home is surprisingly easy. The problem is that it takes a lot of physical strength to do. Because of this, most of us take the easy way out and buy mayonnaise from the store.

But, as we've seen, things that are made at home are almost always better. Egg yolks and oil are the two main ingredients.

That's all there is to it. But, like children who fight, they don't want to hang out together! It is possible to mix them by hand, but it will hurt your forearms for sure. What's that?

Use your immersion blender. Clean out your plastic beaker and add two egg yolks. Start the blender and add the oil (approx. 500ml).

The trick is to slowly add the oil! Do not do everything at once.

Keep whizzing, and slowly pour your oil into the mixture. You can make it taste better by adding Dijon mustard, lemon, salt, and white wine vinegar.

4. Pancake mix from Pristine

It's time to ask your trusted hand blender for help again. You can get beautiful batter with no lumps in seconds.

Most likely, you already know what goes in.

But just in case, put your flour, butter, egg, baking powder, sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt into the beaker. Blend until smooth, and you're done!

5. Great Whipping Cream

Here's another quick way to save time. Who has time these days to make whipped cream by hand? You have work to do, kids to feed, and a sweet tooth that needs to be satisfied. The whipped cream needs to be ready as soon as possible. Set down the whisk and bowl.

It's just not good enough. Action stations, instead: get ready to use your hand blender.

Add the powdered sugar to the cream in the beaker.

Turn on the blender and add the ingredients. You'll have stiff peaks and whipped cream in less than a minute.
